Antti Kuusiniemi<\/strong> has just started as a resident representative on the board of Setlementtiasunnot. We interviewed him on an autumn day in the resident common room of his building. <\/p>\n\n

Antti lives in a student apartment in Verkkosaari, provided by Setlementtiasunnot<\/a>. He is in his fourth year of studying law. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cI moved here at the beginning of the year,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cI have really enjoyed my time at Setlementtiasunnot. I like the building and the common areas. The saunas and the gym \u2013 everything is really nice.\u201d <\/p>\n\n

Meeting neighbors in the sauna<\/h2>\n\n

For Antti, the most important aspect of living is safety \u2013 feeling secure when moving around his own building. He also mentions that it’s great that the common areas have been well-maintained, with no damage or mess. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cMostly, I chat with other residents in the communal sauna. That\u2019s where you run into people,\u201d Antti explains. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve gradually started to recognize my neighbors and we\u2019ve had conversations. Which is really nice.\u201d <\/p>\n\n

Opportunity to influence<\/h2>\n\n

So why did Antti run for the Setlementtiasunnot board? He finds it interesting to observe board work with a strong resident-centric approach, while still seeing the bigger picture. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe residents\u2019 interest is also the company\u2019s interest. And Setlementtiasunnot\u2019s long-term plans clearly show how much they value resident satisfaction and low turnover,\u201d Antti nods. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m generally interested in community activities, influencing, and seeing operations up close. I\u2019m very involved in associations. Association work will probably also be the topic of my thesis,\u201d Antti says. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
