Setlementtiasunnot, together with its partners, has won the land allocation competition for Hiedanranta in Tampere. The winning Triangeli proposal encapsulates Setlementtiasunnot’s strong expertise as a block operator.
– We wanted to elevate community spirit and human interaction to a significant position within the block. Bringing people together and fostering encounters were key factors when we drafted the proposal, states Eemeli Lönnqvist, Real Estate Director at Setlementtiasunnot.
From the outset, the operators shared the idea that there would be common spaces available to all residents in all three properties within the block. Special attention was paid to the functionality of the block’s shared courtyard. In this U-shaped, verdant shared courtyard area, residents naturally encounter one another.
– We get to create an interesting block in an area where our values align from the very beginning. Key themes in the block complex include community, sharing economy, equality, resource wisdom, and digitalization, Lönnqvist says.
Ecology alongside Community
The new Hiedanranta residential area is located along excellent transport links, four kilometers west of Tampere city center. The former factory area is intended to become a residential community of 25,000 inhabitants, reachable by tram from the city center in 12 minutes. The area under construction is committed to sustainable development and ecological solutions.
Setlementtiasunnot’s property is a central part of Hiedanranta’s Triangeli block. It has been planned for ARA-supported affordable rental housing.
– Communal resident facilities and a multi-generational block continue our company’s home block concept. The building also has apartments and facilities reserved for people with intellectual disabilities. From the very beginning, we have paid attention to ensuring they are met as equal residents, enriching the block’s residential community, Lönnqvist emphasizes.
Setlementtiasunnot’s property includes approximately 100 apartments, including those for special groups.
The next phase will involve more detailed planning and preparation for practical implementation.
– The construction schedule and duration will become clearer as the plans progress, Lönnqvist states.
In addition to Setlementtiasunnot, A-Kruunu, NCC, and architectural firm NOAN are responsible for the implementation of the Triangeli block.
