Moving into your new apartment

Congratulations on your new home with Setlementtiasunnot! Please remember to take care of these few things to ensure a smooth move into your new apartment.

Key collection

You will receive separate instructions for key collection after signing the tenancy agreement. Please note that the security deposit must be submitted to us before key collection.

Apartment inspection

We always conduct a move-out inspection of the apartment when the previous resident moves out. As a new resident, you also perform an inspection upon moving in.

  • Perform the move-in inspection via the resident pages. It must be done within ten days of the start of the tenancy agreement.
  • If you notice any deficiencies or defects, report them to the maintenance company using a maintenance request.

Kerro application

We use the Kerro resident application for resident communication and booking services in your building. You can use it as a mobile application or via a web browser at kerro.o4a.fi. Through the Kerro application, you can book the laundry room or other resident facilities for your use. Read detailed instructions.

Change of address notification

  • Submit a change of address notification to Posti and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV) at least one week before moving.
  • You can conveniently submit the change of address notification online or at a Posti service point.

Electricity contract and home insurance

  • Sign an electricity contract with your chosen electricity company before moving.
  • Ensure your home insurance is valid in your new apartment.

Storage unit
You will have access to a storage unit. Please remember that you are obligated to lock it, regardless of whether it is in use.

Internet

All our apartments include DNA’s building-wide broadband. You can activate the broadband service via DNA’s website. Read detailed instructions. You can get a faster connection at a resident benefit price.

Resident pages

The resident pages are the easiest and fastest way to conduct business with Setlementtiasunnot. You can handle almost all rental housing matters through them. Accessing the resident pages for the first time requires strong authentication, so you will need online banking credentials or a mobile certificate. Read detailed instructions.

Moving elsewhere

Life situations can change. When it’s time to move out of Setlementtiasunnot, the following instructions will help you with a smooth move-out.

Termination of tenancy agreement and notice period

The tenancy agreement must be terminated in writing via the resident pages.

The notice period is at least one calendar month. The notice period begins on the last day of the calendar month during which you submitted the termination. For example, a termination submitted on June 15th ends the tenancy agreement on July 31st. Please note that you can terminate your apartment earlier than one month in advance – in that case, please inform us at the end of which month you wish the tenancy agreement to end.

Final cleaning

Ensure that the apartment is thoroughly cleaned before moving out. Remember to also clean the balcony, storage facilities, and any other additional spaces. Check the final cleaning checklist to ensure you have remembered to clean everything necessary.

Key return

Return all apartment keys to the locksmith on the termination date of the tenancy agreement. In addition to the apartment keys, also return any other property keys, such as access tags, mailbox keys, heating post keys, and parking permits.

Apartment inspection

A move-out inspection of the apartment will be conducted after the tenant has returned the apartment keys. Keys must be returned by 4 PM on the moving day at the latest. The inspection is usually carried out on the next business day after the tenancy ends, as part of the normal move-out process.

Storage unit
As a tenant, you are responsible for emptying your storage unit when moving out of the apartment.

Security deposit refund

The security deposit is usually refunded during the following month after the termination of the tenancy liability. The refund of the deposit requires that the apartment has been properly cleaned, keys have been returned on time, rents and any other possible payments have been made, and no damages or deficiencies for which the tenant is responsible have been found in the apartment.

Change of address notification

    • Submit a change of address notification to Posti and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV) for your new address.
    • Remember to also update your address with other important services and parties.

Terminating agreements

    • Terminate or transfer your electricity contract to your new address.
    • Update your home insurance to match your new apartment.
    • Terminate or transfer internet and other service agreements.
