The Board of Directors of Setlementtiasunnot Oy has welcomed two new experts, Juha Kaakinen and Satu Mehtälä. Kari Hahl and Tauno Tuomivaara did not continue on the new board.
The CEO of Y-Foundation, Juha Kaakinen, is an experienced developer of innovative housing solutions. To eliminate homelessness, housing is offered and produced for both the homeless and as social housing. With 17,000 apartments, the Y-Foundation is the largest Finnish NGO focused on homelessness work. Juha Kaakinen is known internationally as a passionate advocate for the Housing First model and affordable housing.
M.Sc. (Econ.), CEO Satu Mehtälä has worked for 25 years in leadership positions in various companies and organizations, including as CFO, Marketing Director, Communications Director, and CEO. She also has experience in management and board positions in construction companies (ZAO Lentek, YIT Oyj, Fira Group Oy, and Woodprime Oy). She has held several positions of trust. Currently, she is the Chair of the Board of the Invalidisäätiö (Foundation for the Disabled) and a member of the Board of the Finnish Settlement Alliance. She also has experience in the operations of third-sector organizations and social enterprises.
