President Tarja Halonen visited to familiarize herself with the Setlementtiasunnot concept. Tarja Halonen has previously served as the chairperson of the board of the Finnish Settlement Federation (Setlementtiliitto), so our operations were already partly familiar to her.
During their visit to Verkkosaari Setlementtiasunnot in the Viehe block, the presidential couple admired the bright top-floor studio apartments, resident facilities, and urban farming on the building’s rooftop.
The honorary chairperson of the Finnish Settlement Federation, President Tarja Halonen, is the patron of the Alli Trygg Recognition Award. The award was presented for the first time last week to artist Paula Vesala.
