Construction work on our new communal apartment building in Hervanta, Tampere, is progressing well. Residents will be able to move into the building by the end of 2025.
The design of the apartment building rising in Afrikanpiha 3 has particularly focused on supporting community spirit in various ways.
– Many of our current residents mention community spirit as a key part of their living comfort and safety. Exchanging greetings in the shared courtyard or resident lounge, and neighborly help announced through our Kerro application, bring meaning to everyday life, says Eemeli Lönnqvist, Property Director at Setlementtiasunnot.
The common areas and courtyard functionalities of Afrikanpiha 3 encourage residents to meet and foster community spirit. The property’s common areas include a resident lounge with a shared kitchen, a gym, a bicycle service point, a laundry room, a remote work space with a shared kitchen, and a communal sauna combined with a sauna lounge for relaxation.
– Shared spaces are the core of community spirit. Easily accessible, bright, and barrier-free spaces support residents’ desire to move around and spend time together, Lönnqvist emphasizes.
Neighbors can also meet each other in the communal courtyard area.
– The courtyard has a children’s play area where children can play together. The courtyard also features a seating area with tables and chairs nestled among trees, Lönnqvist states.
Applications for apartments will begin in June.
