There are two Setlementtiasunnot buildings in Alppikylä. The Hevosmies building, completed in 2012, has 36 apartments, 8 of which are supported housing units. Most of the apartments are studios and one-bedroom apartments, but there are also a few two-bedroom apartments.

Alppikylä is built with good transport connections, situated between the residential areas of Puistola, Heikinlaakso, Jakomäki, and the Tattarisuo industrial area, close to Malmi Airport. Basic services, including a shopping center, library, pharmacy, health center, swimming hall, daycares, and schools, are located in Jakomäki, approximately 500 meters from Alppikylä.

Alppikylä offers excellent outdoor recreation opportunities. The Malmi Airport recreational area and Puistola sports park are in the immediate vicinity of Alppikylä, just over a kilometer away.
