Student Apartments Near Services in Kontula, Helsinki
A seven-story rental building for students was completed in Kontula, Helsinki, in winter 2023. The building features a total of 121 apartments, excellent resident facilities, shared balconies, and a sauna on the top floor.
A degree student aged 18 or older can apply for a student rental apartment from Setlementtiasunnot. Resident selection is based on needs assessment, which considers the applicant’s housing need, assets, and income. Environment
Kontula is a district located in eastern Helsinki. It was mainly built in the 1960s and 1970s, but several new developments have been completed in the city center area in the 2020s.
Kontula’s extensive services, including a shopping center with shops and restaurants, a library, a health station, and a sports and swimming hall, are just a stone’s throw from our building. Myllypuro’s Liikuntamylly and the Myllypuro and Kontula sports parks are also nearby. The services of Itäkeskus and the Itis shopping center are two metro stops away.
The area has good public transport connections. The metro station is only a couple of minutes’ walk away, and trunk line 560 also runs along Kontulantie.
Amenities
The apartment walls are painted, and the floors are laminate. Bathroom floors and walls are tiled.
The kitchen includes a ceramic hob, cooker hood, and a fridge-freezer combination. There is space reserved for a microwave oven and a dishwasher in the cabinetry.

The building has an outdoor equipment storage, a top-floor building sauna section, and apartment-specific storage lockers in the basement or connected to the apartment. Floors 2-6 have shared balconies for residents. The free laundry room has washing and drying machines. There is outdoor gym equipment in the courtyard.
The residents’ common area is on the first floor of the building. In the resident lounge, you can read newspapers or drink coffee, meet neighbors, chat and spend time, watch TV, or participate in other activities. The community kitchen in the resident lounge allows for activities such as cooking and baking.
