Finns live in a relatively good condition, at least when compared to the rest of Europe. Nevertheless, the need for repair is very high.
Built Status Roti 2019 Report was announced today. The report looks at the current state of the built environment and the needs of the future.
The review has been conducted through six panels. They include buildings, transport networks, community -based systems, education and development, digital solutions, as well as architecture, design, design and art.
Heli Kotilainen , Chairman of the Buildings Panel, CEO of Settlement Dwellings, considers the state of the Finnish building stock as a whole. On a European scale, Finnish buildings are in fairly good condition.
"New buildings will be built more professional, but old buildings are not maintained and repaired enough."
Most of the Finnish buildings are from the 1960s and 1980s. According to the report, EUR 9,400 million will be invested in residential buildings over the next 10 years. In municipal service buildings, the amount is EUR 9 billion.
At the same time, a number of strong change phenomena, such as urbanization, population aging, sustainable development, and technological development and digitalization are influenced by the built environment.
According to Kotilainen, construction and use of buildings play a crucial role in climate change. In addition, it is increasingly important in construction and housing to highlight the comfort of residents and the user experience.
"We need new solutions, understanding and desire to do together."
