Construction work on our community-oriented apartment building in Hervanta, Tampere has commenced. Hartela is responsible for the construction.
– Currently, hollow-core slabs for the second-floor ceiling are being installed at the construction site. It takes seven days to complete each floor, so the building is rising rapidly, says Eemeli Lönnqvist, Property Director at Setlementtiasunnot.
The property is located in the Afrikanpiha 3 block, north of Hervanta. Completion is scheduled for late 2025.
– Work is progressing as planned, so residents will be able to settle in well before Christmas 2025, says Lönnqvist.
From studios to family apartments
The building will have a total of 50 apartments. The apartment distribution is diverse, ranging from studios to family apartments. 16 of the apartments are reserved for those over 55.
In apartments designed for residents over 55, special attention has been paid to the needs of aging residents.
– We have invested in accessibility and ergonomics in these apartments, as a resident’s mobility may decline with age, says Lönnqvist.
– The community spirit of our buildings and residents working together are important to us, so we are very pleased with all that residents can do together in our new building, says Lönnqvist.
The Afrikanpiha 3 building is designed to encourage community among residents. The property will include common areas, such as a residents’ lounge, a gym, and a shared courtyard for the block area, where neighbors can meet.
The area has good services, and a tram stop right next door makes getting around easy.
The project will be implemented with a long-term interest-subsidized loan and as affordable rental apartments regulated by Ara.
