Happy European Sustainable Development Week! Environmental responsibility is part of all our operations. And it is great to note that our residents are very environmentally conscious.
We minimize our environmental impact:
We monitor the consumption of heating energy, water, and electricity in our properties and plan actions to make consumption even more ecological. Many of our buildings also have solar panels.
We encourage residents to recycle: our buildings have recycling points for different types of waste, and some also have recycling rooms for reusable goods. Our new properties will feature recycling bins for 7-8 different types of waste in the apartments.
Residents in many of our buildings can grow edible plants in cultivation boxes.
We make responsible procurements and use responsible subcontractors.
We construct new developments in locations with good public transport connections, enabling our residents to commute ecologically. Our employees, in turn, have access to a shared car for work-related travel.
We are part of the Ekokompassi environmental system, which assesses our operations based on transparent criteria.
We utilize the RTS environmental classification for responsible construction. We consider environmental aspects throughout the construction process, including, for example, the indoor air quality of new buildings. In our new projects, we examine heating methods and, from a life cycle perspective, the durability and emissions of products. We also set targets for energy consumption. For our newest properties, we also conduct carbon footprint calculations for the buildings’ emission impacts.
We will be transitioning to sustainability reporting in a few years. In future tenders, we will also require service providers to conduct sustainability reporting.
