At Settlement Apartments, it is important to us that every home is safe and comfortable. If there are any disturbances, we take immediate action. We will do everything we can to resolve the situation, although processes, especially the long processing times of the District Court in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, may delay the final resolution.
What can you do in a disruptive situation?
If a neighbor is causing a disturbance, it is a good idea to first point it out to them in a polite way. If the conversation does not help, you can make a written report of a disturbance, which must be signed by at least two residents of the building. You can fill out the report electronically on the resident website or fill out the disturbance report form and send it to us at info@setlementtiasunnot.fi .
Based on the report, we will investigate the situation and take the necessary action. After receiving the report, we will investigate the background and contact the person causing the disturbance. If necessary, we will issue a warning or a written warning. Although we cannot tell the neighbors what measures we will take, each report starts the process. If the disturbance continues, it is important to file a new report.
Terminating the tenancy is the last option
Our primary goal is to stop the disturbances and ensure a peaceful living environment for all residents. Ultimately, serious and persistent disturbances may lead to termination of the tenancy.
If the disturbances continue despite a written warning, we will take action. Depending on the situation, we may proceed with the termination or cancellation of the lease. Termination means the immediate termination of the lease if the disturbances are serious or continuous and the warnings have had no effect. Cancellation, on the other hand, means that the lease is terminated after the notice period if the conditions for living are no longer met.
