The Penttilänranta neighborhood committee organized an excursion for residents to Rääkkylä’s KukkaKuhhaus event on Saturday, August 19th. According to the residents, the trip was very successful and the weather was favorable.

KukkaKuhhaus is a summer flower festival held at the Karjalanruusu garden estate, located approximately 60 kilometers from Joensuu. At the event, visitors can enjoy flowers, butterflies, and a summery atmosphere.

At the heart of the event was a flower field where asters, dahlias, poppies, marigolds, cornflowers, and sunflowers, among others, grew. Flowers could be picked for a small fee.

At the event, various village associations and youth clubs ran food and pancake stalls, the Rääkkylä Horse Friends Association offered pony rides for children, and local florists and flower shops created beautiful bouquets.

The residents’ return journey to Penttilänranta proceeded pleasantly along a scenic route via the Liperi ferry.
