The Setlement Housing presented their activities to MPs at the Parliamentary Little Parliament event, organized by the Settlement Association 4.9.

- In all of our houses, there is a focus on community. Communal neighborhoods create security and social sustainability, said Suvi Tuomala,

The Settlement Association invited MPs to the event to listen and discuss setting work and cooperation. Paula Risikko (co), first vice-chairman of Parliament, and Nasima Razmyar (sd), Mira Nieminen (ps), Anna-Kristiina Mikkonen (sd) and Krista Mikkonen attended the event .

- The work of setting dwellings is exactly what we are talking about in this time, segregation prevention. In Finland, segregation prevention has been made specifically through housing policy. It has been our great strength. If we give it up, then it is much harder for us to make sure that society is not different, said Krista Mikkonen.

The same line was Suvi Tuomala:

"ARA housing is the key to social sustainability and segregation-market-based solutions are not enough," he said.

Investing in communality is a investment in Finland's future, emphasized Tuomala. In his speech, Nasima Razmyar also highlighted setting homes and the great importance of community in reducing loneliness.

- Loneliness is one of the biggest tragedies in this society. What worries myself and mourning a lot is that there is loneliness in the elderly, Nasima Razmyar said.

- The importance of social housing production in people's everyday life and well -being is enormous, summed up Suvi Tuomala in his speech of the Setlement apartments.
