Smoke alarms are an important part of your apartment and the safety of the entire house. Therefore, it is important to take care of their functionality.

  • It is responsible for each resident, regardless of the model, to clean the smoke alarms.
  • The operation of battery -powered smoke alarms, regular testing and batteries are the responsibility of the resident.
  • If your apartment has fire alarms connected to the power grid, they are the responsibility of the company by law. However, regular testing of smoke alarms connected to the mains is the responsibility of the resident. If there are faults in the electric smoke alarm, report them immediately with a maintenance notice .
  • Remember that the smoke alarm must never be turned off, even if it seems distractingly alarming, for example, a food cart.

Maintenance of smoke alarms for setting homes 2026

With the change in the law, all the smoke alarms in our houses will be transferred to us on 1.1.2026. The change is expected to increase the fire safety of the houses in general, with the consistent of the warning practices for everyone.

Next year, we will map the situation of smoke alarms on a property basis. However, the law change does not necessarily mean that all smoke alarms are replaced. Most importantly, the smoke alarm will be found in each apartment, there will be a sufficient number of living rooms, and the maintenance of the precautions will be centrally maintained.

In 2025, we will notify you in more detail when property -specific smoke alarm mapping is launched. According to the Rescue Act, the owner of the building or his or her representative is entitled to enter the apartment when it is necessary for the procurement and installation of smoke alarms or to keep the smoke alarms in working order.
