- We wanted to raise the important role of community and meeting people in the block. Bringing people together and encounters were key factors as we made a proposal, says Eemeli Lönnqvist .
From the outset, the idea came from the actors that all residents have jointly available facilities in all three blocks of the block. Particular attention was paid to the functionality of the block's joint courtyard. In this lush area of the U's, the residents meet each other naturally.
- We get to make an interesting block in an area where our values are already in the starting position. The key themes in the block are community spirit , the sharing economy, equality, resource wisdom and digitalisation, says Lönnqvist.
Ecology alongside communality
The new Hiedanranta residential area is located with good transport links, four kilometers west of the center of Tampere. The former factory area is scheduled to become a resident of 25,000 inhabitants, which can be reached in 12 minutes by the tram downtown. The area under construction invests in sustainable development and ecological solutions.
The property of the Setlement dwellings is a central part of the Hiedanranta Triangeli block. It is designed for affordable rented housing supported by ARA.
- The communal community space T and the common block of many generations will continue with our company's home concept. Housing and facilities for people with intellectual disabilities have also been reserved for the house. From the outset, we have drawn attention to the fact that they will be encountered as equal residents to enrich the residential community in the block, Lönnqvist emphasizes.
The property of the Settlement Housing has about 100 apartments, including special group dwellings.
In the next step, more detailed planning and practical implementation will begin.
"The time and duration of the construction will be refined as the plans progress," says Lönnqvist.
