For Setlementtiasunnot, 2024 was a year of strong collaboration. We moved forward purposefully, renewed our operations, and strengthened our common direction.
One of the year’s most important achievements was updating the strategy in cooperation with the staff, owner, and board. This reflected our participatory approach, in line with our values, and through collaboration.
Residents are at the core of all our operations. Over 2,200 residents lived in our homes, and the occupancy rate remained high at 97.5 percent. Changes in the housing market and increased competition were also evident for us, but our strong community-based operating model sustained us throughout the year.
Community was evident in our daily lives in many ways. An active resident committee operated in all our buildings. Our Alppikylä building won the ‘Best Nordic Neighborhood’ competition in the autumn. This recognition showed that community is not just a word for us, but actions, participation, and genuine encounters. Thanks for this belong above all to our active residents.
We also built new things concretely. A project was launched in Hervanta, where fifty homes will be completed this autumn, some of which are intended for seniors. We want to ensure that safe and communal living is possible in different life situations.
Behind all these successes is our committed and competent staff, who deserve special thanks. Our staff makes the realization of everyday community possible every day. Our employee satisfaction rose again. The autumn result of 4.3 (on a scale of 1–5) shows that we are on a good path as a work community as well.
