New rental building for all ages in Helsinki’s Postipuisto
An eight-story rental building for all ages was completed in Helsinki’s Postipuisto in April 2022. The building has a total of 88 apartments, 17 of which are intended for residents aged 55 and over. The property consists of a 7–8-story apartment building with two stairwells and a 5-story apartment building with one stairwell.
Environment
Postipuisto is a new neighborhood adjacent to Pasila, Helsinki. The Postipuisto area features a grocery store, and a local school is being built along Kustinpolku.
Pasila’s extensive services, including a shopping center, are only 2 kilometers away.
The area has good public transport connections. Several bus lines run from Metsäläntie, and Ilmala and Käpylä train stations are within walking distance, less than 2 kilometers.
Construction in the Postipuisto area is still ongoing, and construction work may cause disturbances to residents.
Amenities
Apartment walls are painted, and floors are laminate. Bathroom floors and walls are tiled.
Living rooms are equipped with curtain and picture hanging rails, as well as Venetian blinds. Bathrooms in special needs apartments are additionally equipped with grab bars and a shower seat.
The kitchen includes a ceramic hob, extractor hood, fridge-freezer combination, and a dishwasher. There is a space reservation for a microwave oven in the cabinetry. Special needs apartments feature an induction hob with a hob guard, an extractor hood, a raised fridge-freezer combination installed in a cabinet, and a narrow dishwasher.
Balconies are glazed. All balconies have pressure-treated wooden decking. French balcony doors open inwards.
The property has water-circulating radiator heating with district heating. The washroom has electric underfloor heating, which is connected to the apartment’s electricity.
Stairwells A and B have centralized mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation with a shared duct system. Apartment-specific ventilation boost is provided by the extractor hood. Stairwell C has apartment-specific heat recovery units.
Pets are allowed. The building is smoke-free, meaning smoking is prohibited in apartments, on balconies, inside the property, and within the plot area. The rent includes the housing company’s broadband: DNA Netti basic speed 50 M.
Apartments for residents aged 55 and over
The building has 17 apartments intended for residents aged 55 and over. For these senior apartments, at least one member of the applying household must be 55 years or older. Common Areas
The building features an outdoor equipment storage, a communal sauna section, and apartment-specific storage lockers. The free communal laundry room has washing and drying machines. Parking spaces are located in the Postiparkki parking garage, Leimasinkatu 2.
The residents’ common area is on the first floor of the building, connected to the A-B lobby. In the resident lounge, you can meet neighbors, chat and spend time, watch TV, or participate in other activities.
Use of the communal laundry room and drying room is included in the rent.
Residents also have access to the Postivarikko neighborhood house facilities. The neighborhood house includes a sports hall, gym, work and presentation space, multi-purpose room, and workshop. Courses are also organized in these facilities, and they can be reserved for a fee for private use, such as family celebrations or meetings.
