The Government has decided to introduce maximum income limits for resident selection in state-subsidized Ara rental apartments. Setlementtiasunnot’s apartments are Ara-subsidized.
The income limits apply to the selection of new residents and apartment changes, and they will come into effect at the beginning of next year.
– The changes apply to new tenancy agreements. Therefore, the income limits do not apply to residents already living with us, emphasizes Suvi Tuomala, CEO of Setlementtiasunnot.
The income limits for new residents starting from January 1, 2025, are:
- Single-person household: income maximum 3,540 euros.
- Household with multiple persons over 18: income maximum 3,540 euros for the first person + 2,480 euros for subsequent persons.
- Families with children: the income limit increases by 650 euros for the first child and 600 euros per child for subsequent children.
Income does not include, among other things, housing allowance, child benefit, alimony, child support, maternity grant, study grant, and informal care allowance.
