Senior apartments are not assisted living facilities; residents live their own daily lives in their own homes. Residents can, if they wish, seek services provided by the municipality, such as the City of Helsinki’s Senior Info, when the need for support increases.
Apartments are currently available in Helsinki in Kalasatama and Postipuisto, and in Tampere in the Hervannan Afrikanpiha building.
A Unique Opportunity for Over 55s
Apartments for those over 55 offer an opportunity to prepare for the future and choose a home where one can live long-term. Accessibility, elevators, and spacious kitchens and bathrooms make daily life smooth. There is no need to change homes as one ages; instead, one can continue living safely and comfortably in a familiar environment.
Although some of our apartments are specifically designed for seniors, all our other properties are also built according to accessibility requirements (from construction year 2002 onwards). This means that our standard rental apartments are also perfectly suitable for elderly residents.
Community in Everyday Life
The common areas and events in our buildings encourage residents to get to know their neighbors and share everyday moments. Each building also has a resident committee, through which residents can influence common matters, brainstorm activities, and express wishes related to living.
The community is shaped by its residents, and everyone is welcome to participate in their own way and with their own contribution.
Application
Applicants for a senior apartment must be at least 55 years old by the moving date, in accordance with ARA’s resident selection criteria. You submit your application directly to us at Setlementtiasunnot.
