Mai Myllyneva has started work as a rental consultant for setting dwellings.
- If you have submitted a home application to us, then I'm the first person to contact you. That hey, we would have to offer you an apartment, Mai says.
- I am also perhaps the first resident to face face to face on the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Housing Show.
All of the tasks include going through the housing applications, resident choices according to ARA criteria, and providing housing to the selected.
- I also arrange home screens and make leases and give the new residents the keys, he says.
Mai graduated as a tradenom in 2019. He worked as a service expert at the Employment Fund during the Corporate Employment Fund and took care of, among other things, adult education subsidies. For Setlement apartments, he came to the hotel chain Primehotels, where he worked as a sales coordinator.
Home is a place to calm down
- I'm really enthusiastic about this work. It has been easy to start when all colleagues are so nice and receptive, says Mai.
New work is a good idea for him, as he is interested in homes and housing, people's homes and residential areas.
- I feel that home is important. It is a refuge where most people spend the most time. Place of relaxation. It's wonderful that you can offer people it.
- I also like the fact that this is a significant job. That I can help people find a home, sometimes even in difficult life situations. And I see the joy of getting home brings to them. It's rewarding. And I also like to deal with people.
Mai lives in the center of Helsinki, in Kamppi.
- I like old, beautiful houses, he smiles.
So what does he intend to do in the summer?
- I don't have any wonderful summer plans. I'm going to enjoy the summer and the weather in Finland, maybe make some small weekend trips in Finland and see friends, he says.
