The value project for regional housing development has ended. The Setlement Homes participated in this 2.5 -year project.

of the Arvo project was to develop resident-oriented housing concepts and to help municipalities and companies to develop better and more sustainable living environments for residents.

- It was great to note that, regardless of their own starting points, the industry has very similar will to promote cooperation. We all aim for a good result: a functional area functional for residents and ownership. In the industry, it is generally recognized that preventing segregation in the design and implementation of residential areas is a good thing, says Eemeli Lönnqvist, .

During the project, we went on a tour and collected information, for example. housing preferences and their change to development work. The collaboration between many actors highlighted the perspectives.

- During the project, it emerged that more flexibility is clearly needed, for example. for town planning. At a very early stage, locked town plans contributed to even the marketing of markets to slow down projects. New types of residential areas also need a new kind of thinking about ownership and managing maintenance functions, says Lönnqvist.

The University of Tampere was responsible for implementing the Arvo project. The final seminar was held on 27.1.2025.
