The University of Tampere and ARA are launching a research and co-development project on the future of senior living.
The project aims to identify versatile and adaptable housing solutions for individuals over 55, enabling them to live independently in their homes for as long as possible. The project develops new housing production models based on research data through collaborative workshops. The study also seeks international models for developing senior living and their application in Finnish housing.
Setlementtiasunnot Oy is also participating in the two-year project.
The new Property Director, Eemeli Lönnqvist, serves as the contact person for the project.
“At Setlementtiasunnot, we are excited to join this collaboration to develop future senior living solutions. In the future, the population will age and live longer in their own homes. We recognize the need for diverse solutions to support living and facilitate independent housing. In our current properties, we have implemented several different solutions, and we want to share our experiences with other stakeholders. We expect this collaboration to primarily prepare us for future solutions and to develop our operations, including senior living. We are also interested in leveraging the potential of new technological systems to ease the daily lives of older adults in their housing. In addition to other development work, we eagerly anticipate finding new ways to enhance our community activities at our properties,” says Lönnqvist.
