Setlement homes have received a plot of land reserves in Finno, Espoo, along the Meritie. The aim is to build an innovative, communal housing solution that supports the integration of people with intellectual disabilities, in particular, in conventional housing.

The ARA-ARA-ARI rental building, which consists of about 50-60 apartments, will be built on the site. Of these, 10-15 apartments are implemented as satellite dwellings for people with intellectual disabilities, where people with intellectual disabilities can live independently, as part of the community.
The plot is located near the maritime Finnoonlahti Bay.
Communality reduces loneliness
At the heart of the Settlement Housing is community spirit . The house to be built in Finnoose supports encounters of different ages and background residents. in common areas in the block is organized by events that strengthen communality and reduce loneliness.
"Our goal is to promote tolerance and equality by creating housing solutions where special groups live in parallel with the rest of the population," says Lönnqvist.
Satellite housing for people with intellectual disabilities is part of the rest of the house, which allows natural encounters and community formation.
Rehabilitative activity under one roof
Kerro a commercial space in Stalo's stone base that serves as a rehabilitative and communal work space. The farm provides people with mild intellectual disabilities with the opportunity to participate in working life, work and apprenticeships. The retail space also serves the inhabitants of the area and creates new service opportunities.
