The residents as a whole are very pleased with the quality of housing in setting homes. On many gauges, resident estimates rise above the general level of affordable rental homes. Setlement Housing offers affordable rental homes in seven locations, the Helsinki metropolitan area and growth centers.
Settlement homes have asked their residents for opinions on the comfort of housing and housing services. There were many answers, as as many as 37 percent of those who received the survey reported their views.
- It is noteworthy that the overall satisfaction of our residents is four when the maximum value is five. Our customer service and the living environment of the houses received the best grades in this section, both over 4.10 points, says Katri Kaukinen, from Setlement Housing.
The overall satisfaction of respondents in almost every aspect is above the general level of affordable rental homes. Residents are pleased with eg. rent-quality ratio, condition and equipment for dwellings and central location.
Residents tell in the open answers that "the apartment is the right size and the floor plan is really good", "nice overall look in the apartment" and "the apartment is neat and comfortable".
- Our houses are relatively new and in good shape. It's great that our residents appreciate these features, says Kaukinen.
Recycling important for many
Settlement homes invest in ecological solutions in both construction and in their completed houses. This is important for residents and praise them.
Residents are pleased with the solutions to reduce environmental load. Of these, the waste recycling and sorting opportunities are at the top.
-The other environmental solutions, such as shared cars and tools, as well as the residents' own recycling points, were also in the minds of the respondents, says Kaukinen.
common areas in hard use
Many residents highlighted common areas in their open answers: they use them a lot. The most popular communal space is the laundry room, but community space T and the gym are often mentioned.
In addition, joint meetings in the inhabitants and a good atmosphere of the house received praise. "I have noticed that people in this house always greet each other and it makes a good feeling," writes a resident.
- There are many ways to encourage community and working together in the houses in setting dwellings, Kaukinen points out.
He says that, of course, there are also suggestions for development in the residents' feedback. But the most memorable thanks are the most memorable. Kaukinen highlights one of his favorites:
"Whenever I come home, I smile. The home is cozy and the environment is calm and beautiful. There is safe here."
