Living with setting apartments is communal
Communality is the theme of all sites in setting dwellings, which is taken into account in both buildings and in its functions. In all sites in setting dwellings, some of the apartments are reserved for special groups, such as independent young people, the elderly or people with intellectual disabilities. Diversity is part of our everyday life.
The Settlement Housing Housing Coordinator Team is supporting the everyday life of residents and utilizes common areas in their operations. The coordinators also create a third -sector in the neighborhood supporting partner network.
On the ground floor of the Tapiola Settlement Apartments there is community space with a shared kitchen, large dining tables, sofas and homely furnishings. The space can be used for parties, hobby gatherings and meetings. community space has a daily newspaper and a shared computer.
Other common spaces in the building include a quiet work space, a workshop and a laundry. The building will have two unique 40 m² glazed communal balconies: one balcony is designed for parties (for example, children's parties and birthdays), for socializing and dining, the other for relaxation and quiet time. The terraces will be decorated to support the functional theme.
The roof of the building has two saunas for residents. A large part of the roof is a terrace that functions as a roof garden, a common living room for residents, which will also have growing boxes.
