The new government program proposes income limits for affordable rental apartments and fixed-term tenancy agreements for ARA apartments. No legislative change has been made regarding this matter yet.
– If implemented, the changes envisioned by the government will apply to new tenancy agreements. We cannot unilaterally alter tenancy agreements that have already been concluded, emphasizes Setlementtiasunnot’s CEO Suvi Tuomala.
– Therefore, if implemented, the planned income limits will only apply to residents whose contracts were made after the legislative change. In tenancy agreements, we adhere to the Residential Lease Act, which determines, for example, the possibilities of terminating an existing tenancy agreement, Tuomala states.
