A unique celebratory moment took place on Thursday, September 17, 2020, in the Helsinki Stock Exchange Hall, as trading of Municipality Finance’s social bond commenced on Nasdaq Helsinki. The occasion was marked by a bell-ringing ceremony, a tradition of the Stock Exchange. The highlight of a listing is when a new issuer rings the stock exchange bell to signify the start of trading. Representatives of Setlementtiasunnot attended the event as recipients of the financing.
Municipality Finance’s social bond is the first social bond on Nasdaq Helsinki. It is also the first social bond issued by a public sector entity in the Nordic countries. The 500-million-euro, 15-year bond is guaranteed by the Local Government Guarantee Board. On the bond’s issue date, September 3, the bond was oversubscribed almost fourfold.
The address at the event on behalf of Setlementtiasunnot was given by CEO Heli Kotilainen. She presented the plans for our social financing project, the Tapiola Jousenpuisto construction project, to the audience.
“We are proud that Tapiola Setlementtiasunnot has been among the first to be approved for Municipality Finance’s social financing. It is important that socially impactful investment options are available to investors,” says Heli Kotilainen.
