We visited the European Parliament in Brussels at the invitation of MEP Maria Ohisalo.
– We discussed with Maria Ohisalo, among other things, affordable housing and important themes related to special housing, says Suvi Tuomala from Setlementtiasunnot, who participated in the trip.
Katri Kaukinen and Eemeli Lönnqvist from Setlementtiasunnot were also present. The travel group also visited FEANTSA, the European umbrella organization for homelessness prevention, and EASPD, the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities.
– In the coming years, we will need even stronger cooperation and joint efforts to safeguard fundamental rights and simultaneously enable social innovations, sustainable growth, and development, Tuomala emphasizes.
The trip was organized in early February by Tukena. Representatives from Savas-Säätiö and the Human Rights Centre were also present.
