Residents are, overall, highly satisfied with the quality of living at Setlementtiasunnot. By many metrics, resident evaluations exceed the general standard for affordable rental housing. Setlementtiasunnot offers affordable rental homes in seven localities, including the Helsinki metropolitan area and other growth centers.
Setlementtiasunnot surveyed its residents for their opinions on the living comfort and housing services in its buildings. The response rate was high, with as many as 37 percent of those who received the survey sharing their views.
– It is noteworthy that our residents’ overall satisfaction approaches four, with five being the maximum value. Our customer service and the residential environment of the buildings received the best ratings in this section, both scoring over 4.10 points, says Customer Relations Director Katri Kaukinen from Setlementtiasunnot.
The overall satisfaction of respondents exceeds the general level of affordable rental housing in almost all areas. Residents are satisfied with, among other things, the rent-to-quality ratio, the condition and amenities of the apartments, and their central location.
In their open responses, residents state that “the apartment is suitably sized and the floor plan is really good,” “the apartment has a nice overall appearance,” and “the apartment is clean and comfortable.”
– Our buildings are relatively new and in good condition. It’s great that our residents appreciate these features, says Kaukinen.
Recycling is Important to Many
Setlementtiasunnot invests in ecological solutions both in construction and in its completed buildings. Residents consider this important and commend it.
Residents are satisfied with solutions that reduce environmental impact. Among these, waste recycling and sorting facilities rank highest.
– Our buildings’ other environmentally conscious solutions, such as shared cars and tools, and residents’ own recycling points, were also well-received by respondents, Kaukinen notes.
Common Areas in High Demand
Many residents highlighted common areas in their open responses, stating that they use them frequently. The most popular common area is the laundry room, but resident facilities and the gym are also often mentioned.
Additionally, shared gatherings in resident facilities and a positive building atmosphere received praise. “I have noticed that people living in this building always greet each other, and that creates a good feeling,” writes one resident.
– In Setlementtiasunnot’s buildings, community spirit and collaborative activities are encouraged in many ways, Kaukinen reminds.
She mentions that resident feedback also includes suggestions for improvement, which are taken into account. However, the positive acknowledgments are what stand out most. Kaukinen highlights one of her favorites:
“Every time I come home, I smile. Home is cozy, and the environment is peaceful and beautiful. It feels safe here.”
